The ONIX microfluidic platform for live cell imaging of yeast samples allows continuous cell culture imaging with flow switching control. It is used with any inverted microscope to provide excellent flow control, image clarity, and time lapse tracking of yeast cells. The design enables control of nanoliter flow rates (25-200 nL/min) with solution switching times under 10 seconds. This technology fixes cells to a 4.5 micron tall chamber without hindering solution exchange to provide clear fluorescence images. The disposable microfluidic chambers are formatted to a 96-well plate with a glass bottom imaging surface, allowing multiple flow experiments to be operated in parallel with continuous cell imaging for up to five days. The platform is useful for cell cycle tracking, gene expression analysis, and cell signaling applications.
